A West Yorkshire based humanist wedding Celebrant with 14+ years' experience leading beautiful humanist wedding, hand-fasting and vow renewal ceremonies in Yorks (Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Bradford, Skipton, Harrogate, York), the Peak (Chesterfield, Matlock, Ashbourne) and N West (Clitheroe, Chester, Knutsford). 500+ stellar reviews. Loved ones' words included as standard. I adore what I do.
'My goodness, did we make the right decision in Hannah. We knew what we wanted, but it was her amazing ability to ask the right questions and craft the right words that made it an altogether perfect reality. The number of compliments? Staggering.’ Beth + Ian
Who tends to hire you? - I’ve worked with the widest range of couples imaginable, but they’ve all been looking for far more than the average ‘personalised’ ceremony. They may not have initially known what theirs would include, but they did know they wanted it to captivate, move and delight their guests. The depth and breadth of my uniquely rewarding creative process and the fact it’s so thought-provoking and fun really appealed.
‘We’re lucky enough to be close friends with an amazing (and extremely critical) professional cellist, who literally goes to hundreds of wedding ceremonies annually. So when he told us ours was the best he has ever seen, we knew we’d nailed it!’ Jen
What’s different about your approach? - Crucially, how I gather the information I need: using your individual and joint answers to bespoke questions you’ve had time to think about, separately and together, within an innovative three phase process. I also include loved ones’ words which, as far as I know, nobody else does. Then there's the quality of my writing, the lengths I go to, my intuitive attention to detail and way of performing.
‘So many commented on how much effort Hannah made with them during and after our ceremony, how our wedding day felt so very personal, emotional and fun. In fact, a few who were rather ‘anti-marriage’ have said they’ve been rethinking their position.’ Ruth
How would you choose a Celebrant? - First, I’d look for the differences in the detail. Does their individual approach mean I’ll get as much from the process as possible? Then I’d want to hear some of their writing. Does it completely draw me in, so I forget the world for a moment? After our chat ends, do I feel giddy, inspired by all this ceremony could be? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity after all. Why would you settle for anything less?
