Naming ceremonies can be the most fabulous ceremonies to take! Though rarely the quietest - I find there's usually an element of organised chaos, especially when young children are involved, but that's all part of the fun.
A humanist naming ceremony gives you the chance to welcome a new member of your family exactly the way you want to. Be it to celebrate the arrival of a new baby, the culmination of a successful adoption, the blending of two families or the recognition of a new identity post-transition, a humanist ceremony allows you to choose how, when and where you want to mark your special occasion. You might decide to celebrate at home, in your garden, at a hotel or party venue; my most unusual setting so far is an independent cinema.
Wherever we hold it, I love working with families to create a ceremony that truly reflects you all and the love you share, and am blown away every time I get to play a small part in helping people express publicly what they live and breathe every day in caring for each other.
Whatever ideas you have, I'm excited to hear them, and we can build a naming ceremony that is all yours.
