Hi, I'm Chris

Your wedding, your way…..wouldn’t it be great to start your married life with a ceremony that genuinely reflects who you are?

A humanist ceremony gives you the opportunity to marry where you want, when you want, and how you want. Humanist weddings are ceremonies focused on expressing the wishes, the sentiments and the essence of the couple who are declaring their life-long commitment to each other. They are non-religious ceremonies but inclusive; they are warm and personal moments of meaning, that can incorporate traditional or cultural ritual elements too.

They can be conducted anywhere; indoors, outdoors, in the garden, field or hill, somewhere that is special to you and, if it happens to belong to someone else, with their permission of course!  Ceremonies can be as formal or as a casual as you want them to be, as they are reflections of the personalities involved and, as such, completely unique – no two ceremonies are the same. All this is achieved by me getting to know and understand each couple; listening and working with you to create a custom-written ceremony. There will be plenty of opportunities for a few ‘tweaks’ too.

Friends and family can be involved with readings, poetry, wedding blessings, music etc adding another level of personalisation. Vows & promises can be written to each other and is, in my opinion, the most moving part of the ceremony. Ring exchanges can be as creative as you are.

Humanist weddings aren’t yet legal in England and Wales. A marriage in a statutory ceremony room at a registry office can take place Monday to Friday and costs £57.00 with no booking fee (Staffordshire Aug 2024), before or after your humanist ceremony.

Vow renewals:

A vow renewal is the opportunity for you as a couple to renew the vows that you made to each other when you first got married. It is a way to commemorate a love that has deepened or matured between a couple. When you got married, you may not have had the opportunity for a really special day, it’s the opportunity to do this now. It may be just the two of you or it may be a big family occasion.

Again, your vow renewal can take place anywhere ~ on a beach, in a forest, by a lake, on top of a mountain, in your back garden; simply no rules.

Please contact me if I can help with your wonderful unique wedding or vow renewal.

As a celebrant, I am able to bring life experience, professionalism and personality to support you with your wedding planning.

Chris ~ Thank you so so much for a beautiful ceremony. It was absolutely perfect. It was so lovely to meet you and our parents said how lovely it was to meet you too. We wanted to share this photo from the ceremony with you. What a beautiful day it was and the most perfect weather just in time for the ceremony. Best wishes, Mr & Mrs B

Chris ~ we just want to thank you so much for Saturday, we had so many people saying how lovely the service was and how much they enjoyed it, as did we. I feel I didn’t thank you properly for all that you did for us and how you made the day so special and stress free. You are such a kind and caring person and you helped me personally when it became a bit too much for me at times. So, thank you once again and take care. Margaret and Barry xx
