Hi, I’m Alan… your celebrant for love, laughter, and unforgettable moments (with bonus dog stories thrown in).

Based in Ballymena but rarely standing still, I spend my days travelling across Northern Ireland helping couples craft ceremonies that are as unique and joyful as their love stories. Whether you’re planning a big bash, a quirky elopement, or something in between, I’m here to make sure your day feels completely, unapologetically you.

Your love story isn’t a template…so why should your ceremony be? I specialise in non-religious, humanist ceremonies that are warm, inclusive, and full of heart (and maybe a few happy tears). Think of me as your ceremony co-pilot: part storyteller, part cheerleader, part logistics wrangler, and 100% invested in making your day unforgettable.

🛠 How we’ll work together:

• Initial chat – A relaxed conversation to get to know each other. You talk, I listen (and take notes like a detective with a soft spot for romance).

• Questionnaire – A few thoughtful prompts to help shape the story of your day, no pop quizzes, promise.

• Planning session – We’ll build a ceremony that reflects your personalities, values, and the love you share. Bonus points if you bring snacks.

• Full support – I’ll be with you every step of the way, making sure everything feels just right, from the first draft to the final “I do.”

I’m passionate about creating safe, celebratory spaces for all couples. Whatever type of wedding you are planning and just want to work with someone who truly gets it, I’m here for you. Love is love, and your ceremony should honour that with pride, joy, and authenticity.

🧭 A bit about me:

When I’m not officiating weddings, you’ll find me hiking through the Mournes, sampling questionable street food, getting lost in a good book, or laughing with friends and family over coffee and cake. And most importantly, I share life with my partner Jade.

Jade and I have been together for 17 incredible years. In that time, we’ve travelled the world, shared countless adventures, and discovered a mutual love for trying new food and wine wherever we go. Our two dogs, Harry and Pepper, are more than just pets…they’re a massive part of our lives and the emotional support mascots of our operation.

Where do I start?! We had the absolute pleasure of having Alan marry us! Me and my now wife are from England, and it was our dream to get married in Northern Ireland.

Alan went above and beyond to make our dream come true. The lead up to the wedding was planned to a tee and any and all worries were alleviated by him!

The wedding day was as perfect as perfect could ever be! Alan was so kind and understanding. The day was particularly special to us as it was my late father's birthday. He was mentioned and celebrated along with our love for each other and our family in the most beautiful, profound way possible.

We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.
