Hi, I'm Victoria
If you are looking for a unique personally written ceremony to celebrate the birth of your baby or the addition of a child into your family, what I can offer is right for you and I can’t wait to help you.
You, the couple or parent, would work with me to write a ceremony for yourselves, your family and your friends. The ceremony can very flexible and can be as elaborate or simple as you wish. You can hold your ceremony anywhere you want; at home, in a village hall, in the garden, in a hotel etc. You can invite as many or few people as you want.
The fundamental point about one of my ceremonies is that it is inclusive and as it has no religious content it should suit all your family and friends without offence. The focus will be on you, the couple and your commitment to your child/ren and our responsibilities to each other as human beings.
You can involve family members and friends and often parents include readings and/or poems, parents make promises and often chose people equivalent to ‘god parents’ (known as guardians, guide parents, mentors, and even odd parents!) who usually make a commitment. Grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins can also be recognised as very important people in your child’s life. You might like to include a symbolic act such as giving a bangle, lighting a candle, planting a tree, sponsoring a child, adopting an animal etc.
Why not decide on a theme for your ceremony, create a time capsule for your child with items brought from the guests, start a library for your child with books given by the guests? I have a wealth of ideas I will share with you.
I will be able to advise you on what works well and what may pose something of a problem. Would you like to book me for a naming/welcoming ceremony, or do you simply wish to discuss ideas further? Please e-mail me or give me a ring 07715745175.

Humanist naming ceremonies
A humanist naming ceremony is a joyous event, and the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family to welcome your child into the world, with no reference to religion. It focuses on the child, their future and the circle of love and support around them, offering a sincere and personal alternative to a christening or other religious ceremony.
