I am a professional celebrant, trained and accredited by Humanists UK. I create and lead non-religious, inclusive funeral and memorial ceremonies.
Humanist funerals celebrate a life lived, while acknowledging the sadness of loss. They focus on the individual: their character, their connections and the legacy they leave behind. You don’t need to identify as a humanist to choose this kind of ceremony - many people share humanist values without realising it. What matters is authenticity, compassion and love.
Most funerals are by their nature poignant and sad. But, they can also be filled with joy, laughter and moments of profound gratitude. A ‘good’ funeral helps us say goodbye in a way that feels right: by telling the story of a life, reflecting on its meaning and honouring the love that remains.
As a humanist celebrant, I work closely with those left behind to shape a ceremony that is personal, honest and unique. I’ll support you in choosing music, readings and poems that resonate. I’ll listen to your memories and weave them into a tribute that reflects both the joy and the sorrow, the tears and the laughter.
To be entrusted with someone’s story is a profound honour. It’s why I do this work.
