I am an accredited celebrant based in East Hampshire. As an experienced photographer and videographer, I have been involved with weddings for many years. It was a natural step to become a celebrant and perform ceremonies myself. Weddings are such joyful occasions and it’s a huge pleasure to help make them memorable.

In my spare time, I am passionate about music, playing in local bands. I also organise and compère music events, especially where I can support new performers in gaining confidence. I spend a lot of time interacting with a diverse range of people, building rapport and trust.

Having also worked in technology, education and the creative arts, my attention to detail and planning skills are well established.

I love walking, travelling, photography, reading, cooking (often with my allotment grown vegetables), and art, if I can find time!

My style has been described as warm and engaging. I am a confident speaker, able to perform ceremonies ranging from formal to the more unconventional, but always with a human touch.

The wonderful thing about Humanist wedding ceremonies is that they can be whatever you want them to be!

How does it all work?

We have an initial meeting to discuss your wedding plans, without obligation. This is also your chance to decide if I am the right celebrant for you. It is important that you feel comfortable with the people you choose for your big day, on a personal level, as well as their professionalism.

The next stage is to have a more detailed planning meeting, which can be at a later date if preferred. This is when I learn about your ‘story’, we develop the ceremony together and work towards your vision for your wedding. I can help with every aspect from readings, music, vows / promises, symbolic gestures and more. You will find it an enjoyable and creative process, that will provide me with the information I need to write your script.

The draft script is sent to you for approval. You are welcome to make revisions if need be.

I will attend the rehearsal and, finally, have the pleasure of delivering the ceremony on the day itself.

My husband, Tom, and I could not have been more grateful to Trevor for agreeing to marry us in June 2023. The ceremony was perfect. Trevor made the ceremony about us both as people and as a couple and that really shone through. He helped us feel comfortable, and worked with us to ensure the ceremony was exactly how we wanted it. Trevor was able to make us laugh and cry. Everything felt very personal and very individual to us, as opposed to us having the same script as everyone else. Trevor also helped us with making sure the first part of the day went smoothly and was almost the equivalent of a host before everything began. Trevor also gave us a beautiful copy of the script along with our vows and a certificate signed by all of our wedding party. It’s clear Trevor really cares about his role as a celebrant and takes it very seriously and this was evident in his professionalism and interest in our lives! I first met Trevor at a wedding that I was working at, and knew immediately that he would be perfect for mine and my then girlfriend’s potential future wedding. I made sure to ask for his card, and when the time came a few years later, working with Trevor was an absolute pleasure for both myself and my now wife :)

Where I work

I am based in the Portsmouth area and perform ceremonies throughout Hampshire, East & West Sussex, Dorset, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the South of England in general.

I enjoy travel, so I am happy to travel to most areas in the UK and abroad by arrangement.

Fees from...

£650 which includes meeting(s), writing the script, performing the ceremony on the day, and a presentation copy of the script. It may be necessary to add modest travel expenses (at cost) if the distance is greater than about 50 miles.
