I'm very proud to be a Humanist celebrant for weddings. What I love most about weddings is that 'this is it!' moment. That's when it feels real - exclusively personal and significant. You can run through the words in your mind in the weeks and days before hand. You can try on your outfit. Practice your entrance. But there's nothing quite like that special moment on the day when all that matters is you, and the person in front of you. I love making that happen!
When I first meet a couple, it's a pleasure to experience that unique chemistry between them, which defines the way they want their ceremony to work. It's my job to tease out all the assumptions, ideas, dreams and details which will make their perfect wedding. I know I have done my job well when the ceremony sounds and feels like it was entirely prepared by the couple. In a way it was - but with help.
Whether your wedding is in a barn, a field, a yurt, a hotel. Rain, sun, snow...You will remember this day forever. It will be something you look back to, hold close, re-run in your mind. More than anything you will remember the way you feel.
You will be aware that I am there, you will hear me read the words we agreed and feel sure of what to say and what to do. My work on the day is to guide you, reassure you and bring to life all the words, vows and rituals we have carefully planned together. Which means all you need do is focus on your moment, and share it with the person you there to marry.
