I'm a Humanist funeral celebrant, based in North London. I have been conducting funerals for over 20 years so I have a wealth of experience - but I'm still learning. One of the most important things I've learnt is that there's no such thing as an ordinary life. Every person is unique, and every life is important.
Each ceremony I take is specially written: I will come to visit you, I'll listen to what you want. I'll ask questions about the person who has died - what they were like, what they did, and what they meant to you. We can make the funeral completely individual and personal, including music, readings, time for reflection or a slideshow of photos. I'm available by phone or email if you think of more to add, or if you just want to check any details with me. I'll send you a draft of the ceremony after we've met, so you can make additions or corrections so that you're comfortable with everything I say.
On the day I'll be there in good time to check everything's ready, and afterwards I'll give you a copy of the final ceremony script to keep as a memento.
You only get one chance to have a funeral. My aim is for you to be able to look back and think that it was the best it could possibly be.
