Hi, I'm Rachael

Hello! Welcome to my wedding page and congratulations on booking your wedding in the North East or North Yorkshire. If you're imagining a magnificent, non-religious, celebrant-led wedding ceremony that's crammed with beautiful words, your detailed story and interesting twists; and you want it delivered with professionalism, passion and flair, you're in the right place! I'm an accredited Humanist Celebrant, who works around Newcastle Upon Tyne, across Northumberland, Teeside, Durham and North Yorkshire - from Morpeth and Alnwick in the North down to Harrogate (where I'm from originally and where I began my celebrant work).

I'm a holistic storyteller - with a background in professional writing, presenting, photography, video production and event management. With over 160 bespoke wedding ceremonies written and delivered across the North East and North Yorkshire since 2018, I am highly experienced, but I'm also very chilled and smiley. I am highly recommended by venues, couples and other wedding suppliers, because I have the insight, the skills, the professionalism and a million ideas to guide you through the most fabulous wedding ceremony - every step of the way.

Whether you're looking for a traditional, alternative, multicultural, straight or same sex wedding, and whether you're getting married for the first, second or third time, I can craft a ceremony that's perfect for you and your guests. I love a wedding, and I'm told I'm a wonderfully calming influence - nothing fazes me! Together, we can enjoy the process. On your wedding day, we can take your guests on an emotional rollercoaster of stories, thoughts, love and promises - guaranteed to spark heartfelt happy tears, wide eyes, smiles and laughter in all the right places. I have a PA system for mic and music delivery - all covered within my fee. And the experience doesn't end there. The memories created will last a lifetime, as will the copy of the ceremony script that you get to keep forever.

I don't enter wedding awards but I do rely on the reviews from those who've enjoyed their ceremonies.

On 30th October 2025, I represented Humanists UK on an ITV news feature about the government’s decision to legally recognise humanist marriage.

Your wedding day is going to be incredible. So it makes absolute sense to begin it with as much colour, warmth, individuality and love as the rest of your celebrations. Call or email anytime! Please also see my Main website:

"We knew our ceremony would be epic from the moment you sent us the script. But WOW. You created such a magical atmosphere full of tears and laughter that extended all throughout the rest of the day. The dancefloor was packed for the entire night with everyone who'd shared a tear (and a shot!) together. We had so many people tell us that it was the best ceremony they've ever attended, and that you were FABULOUS. “

Rachael is a fantastic humanist celebrant who created a wonderful ceremony for our wedding day! We couldn't be more pleased with how heartfelt, funny and wholesome our ceremony was. She offered suggestions on readings, music and humanist acts to incorporate into our wedding ceremony to make it truly personalised and special. Rachael is incredibly warm and friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

— Becki and Abi

Rachael, what can we say other than we are eternally grateful for making our ceremony the most personal, loving and individual ceremony. It was perfection! From the moment we met you, it was clear that this isn’t just your job, it’s your passion. You love LOVE! In our initial meeting you managed to get our whole love story it the least intrusive way. You had fantastic ideas and made us feel so relaxed. When we got the first draft, we sat excitement reading it together, there were tears and laughter. This was it, it finally felt real! On the day, the scene was set and Rachael, you delivered an unreal ceremony! You made the most important day feel like a love story. Thank you Rachael, thank you!

Just wanted to email you on behalf of us both to say thank you so much for yesterday. We had a truly amazing day and the ceremony was absolutely perfect!! So many of our guests commented on how perfect, intimate, funny and emotional it was and those that had never been to a humanist wedding were even more impressed. You captured us brilliantly and we really appreciate all you did.

Just wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU we could possibly give you for such an incredible ceremony on Saturday! It was just the most perfect combination of heartfelt, funny and 'us', you just did such a fantastic job of summarising our love story and we will be forever grateful for your magic! We've had so many friends and families say how brilliant the ceremony was and set the tone perfectly for the rest of the day - it was just so personal and people learned things about us that they didn't know! Truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we will treasure the memories forever.

— Maddie and James

Thank you so much for yesterday Rachel - we had the most brilliant day and I cannot tell you how many people came up to us and said that it was the best ceremony they have ever been to, and how brilliant you were. You have a lot of fans, us included. The ceremony had everything we could have hoped and asked for: laughter, music, joy and tears. We are eternally grateful to you for making it so special and meaningful for us and everyone there.
