I'm a wedding celebrant accredited by Humanists UK.
I write and conduct non-religious, relaxed and personal wedding ceremonies.
I will take a huge amount of care to get your story, and your ceremony, just right. Whether you’re planning a small intimate wedding, a large-scale event or something in between, I’m here to help you have exactly the wedding that you want.
How I work
The first step is to get in touch for a chat (usually via video call), with no obligation and absolutely no pressure. This is just a chance for us to meet and for you to figure out if I am the right celebrant for you.
If you decide you’d like to go ahead, we’ll arrange a further meeting where we will do lots more planning and chatting. Then I will write your script (with as much input from you as you would like!).
I'll be there nice and early to deliver your ceremony on the day, and will provide you with a presentation copy of your script afterwards.
About me
As well as being a celebrant, I have studied drama and creative writing, and have worked as many things including a freelance journalist, copywriter and in communications for charities, the NHS and arts organisations.
I’ve also done introductory training in counselling, and am passionate about supporting people by listening.
I am also committed to equality, and my work will always be inclusive. I fully welcome same-sex and LGBT ceremonies. Quite simply, I love to work with any two people who would like to be married, regardless of gender, identity, background or anything else.
In my spare time I like to write, run and spend time with my family in the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside.
I’m based near Ilkley, just outside Leeds, and can cover most weddings across the Yorkshire area (and sometimes beyond.)
