I’m a Humanist funeral celebrant based in South East London. It’s my privilege to learn about people’s lives, and to work closely with family and friends to craft ceremonies with warmth and honesty. I would be honoured to work with you to create a service that feels truly personal and meaningful.
My approach
My background as a designer and educator means I bring a creative and collaborative approach to shaping, writing and leading funeral ceremonies. I will follow your lead on the appropriate tone of the service, to ensure the service feels just right for the person being commemorated. I can guide you on the rhythm of the ceremony, suggest readings and support you in writing the tribute – which can be led by you, or I can share this on your behalf.
A celebration of a unique life
I love to hear the stories of people’s lives, and I pride myself on listening closely and paying close attention to details. Those little details can often give a big picture of a life – that song somebody was always humming, the joke they told over and over again, that photo that will be forever imprinted in your mind's eye.
A bit about me
I trained as a Humanist funeral celebrant because I was so moved by the beautiful, profound and open-minded funerals I’ve attended that were led by Humanist celebrants. I’m a strong believer in the importance of holding space together for grief and loss, alongside a celebration of life that may include moments of joy.
A proud Londoner, I work across all London boroughs, especially Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Bromley and Croydon. You’ll often find me on the tube with my head stuck in a book, my ears deep in a voice note or sketching out a design for a brightly coloured quilt.
