And if you're reading this its highly likely you're engaged so CONGRATULATIONS!
It’s also likely you're looking to create a unique and very personal ceremony to make your remarkable day EXPONENTIONALLY better. You might want a ceremony that's more relaxed, and while still poignant, has a touch of humour flowing through it. Well, you've come to the right place. 😁
With my 25+ years’ experience in street theatre, circus and the outdoor arts, I bring a touch of theatre and humour to the proceedings. As well as being a wedding celebrant I'm a stilt walker and freelance performer who's worked all round the world, so I welcome unusual and original ideas for ceremonies. Whether it’s a cycle-led procession, a 'cut-out heart race' or just a good old singalong, I'll seek to inject your ceremony with fun and originality.
My role alongside you as a couple, is to take the reins of the ceremony creation; supporting you with all aspects of creation and delivery; be those ideas for structure, suggestions for content (readings, songs, games, speeches!) and any help around logistics (who's holding baby? who's got the dog? where's Gran going to sit so she can hear?)
I'll listen to your thoughts, ideas and concepts for your wedding, and we’ll build a beautiful thing together. It could be a simple, traditional and timeless event - many independent weddings uphold the timeless marriage traditions and rituals that are familiar to us and our loved ones. Or, it could be a little or a whole lot different – in forest, on a beach, in a kayak - I’ve yet to do one on trapeze but there’s still time!
I seek to hold the space with you and for you, and after decades of working in the arts and events nothing phases me.
Often my couple’s initial main questions are: ‘Where do we start? How does the process work?
My answer is: After our initial meet to see what sort of ceremony you want (if you even yet know!) I send you ideas for content, vow structures, and other symbolic gestures. The main part is our big in-person meeting (at your house if possible) when we chat all things weddings and you tell me YOUR unique story of how you came to be a couple, which I then write and tell on your wedding day. We may also eat biscuits and drink tea.
I like tea. I also quite like wine, my 2 rescue cats Coco & Juno and hanging out with my family swimming off the Norfolk coast or heading out to festivals (for work or play) or a campsite in our 1971 VW camper van.
