Congratulations to you, the soon to be Mr & Mrs, Mrs & Mrs or Mr & Mr. Humanists weddings are non religious ceremonies for those of any faith or of none; they are about you, your love story, your friends and family and the adventure you are on as a couple.
I love being a wedding celebrant, because at its core the role of celebrant is to help shape and share in a day of joy. Its hard to think of a job description thats less seductive. If we work together you can expect of me that I will :
- take time to help you think through what is important to you about your wedding ceremony; how it will reflect who you are as individuals and as a couple?- help you identify and explore the words, the sounds, and the gestures or rituals that have real meaning for you
- help you think through the choices of what to say, who should say it, the roles you want those dearest to you to play on the day be they young or old, human or not - beloved pets can have a place in your ceremony too
- when it comes to vows, do you want to share some kind of commitments? It can feel daunting to write these, I can help get you started as you find the right expression for your connection and commitment to each other
- give you inspiration for readings, music and symbolic acts that might fit your vibe
- offer boundless encouragement and support for you to do it the way you want to; indoor, outdoor, small and simple, wild and free range, big and bold....whatever is really 'you'
- craft all of the above into a ceremony script that is as unique as you are
- help you prepare for the big day, in the conversations we have and in practical rehearsal
- be there for you as the day draws nearer as questions and 3am worries pop into your heads
- create a beautiful keepsake of your wedding ceremony script.
