Hi, I'm Jonathan
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm pleased that you found it as I neither advertise, nor 'do the rounds' of funeral directors to 'drum up' business. All my work comes from personal recommendation and word-of-mouth. Which is just the way I like it. Although I am based in Norwich, I travel extensively, conducting celebrations, commemorations and memorials to the highest possible standards
My website offers an insight into how I will help you to deliver a meaningful and tailor-made funeral service, with the life of your loved one at its core. Please do take a look. The link is at the bottom of the panel on the right.
As a former member of the UK Army Reserve, I am especially honoured to provide funeral ceremonial for serving and ex-military personnel. I also have ties to the LGBT community and am proud to help families create unique and memorable ceremonies which have a bit of flair about them.
I’m an accomplished public speaker and have a relaxed yet uplifting style which celebrates the life-lived with dignity, compassion and good humour. You can expect a genuinely tailor-made celebration of life from an approachable, professional and articulate celebrant.
Because I know that what is said at a funeral will be remembered long after the flowers have died, every word spoken will be skilfully crafted to offer the best appreciation of the person who has died and comfort and serenity to those left behind; a huge responsibility (and an utter privilege).
Please feel free to telephone me in the first instance so that I might answer any questions you may have, without obligation. After that, if you think that I can help, we'll make a mutually convenient appointment to meet up and talk about your ideas for the funeral service.
If you're reading this and someone you loved has died recently then please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
Jonathan
I just wanted to thank you so much for conducting mum’s funeral today. My family and I are so grateful for how efficiently and sensitively you handled it.
Many people told us afterwards how good they thought you were and mum would have been very pleased (and, as you now know, she had very exacting standards!). You received many compliments.

HUMANIST CEREMONIES™ is the network of more than 550 celebrants, trained by national charity Humanists UK to a gold standard to provide memorable and meaningful humanist ceremonies to non-religious people. Operating throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, we deliver authentic, tailor-made and heartfelt ceremonies for life’s key moments. They are always inclusive and welcoming, regardless of the beliefs of those attending.
You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.
Humanist funerals
Humanist funerals, memorials and ash ceremonies are a fitting way to honour a unique life with warmth, sensitivity and meaning, but without reference to religion or an afterlife. They put the story of the person who has died at the heart of the ceremony, paying tribute to them and the legacy they leave, and provide an opportunity to bring people together, not just to share sadness but to celebrate a life lived.
