I am a funeral celebrant, accredited by Humanists UK. I work sensitively with families and friends to design and craft a funeral or memorial service that truly respects and reflects the wishes and personality of the person who has gone, and which provides comfort to those who live on.
I chose to train with Humanists UK because they provide a thorough and rigorous training with ongoing support and development, so that you know that you are in safe, professional hands. It also means that I am part of an active national community of celebrants that I can call upon for advice or other support.
When I lost my partner in 2012, I enlisted the help of a Humanist funeral celebrant for both the initial small funeral and a later larger and more celebratory memorial event. I know how important those events can be, and how hard it can be to think about them. It was such a relief having someone by my side at that difficult time who understood and was really able to help. That celebrant is now part of my network and I love continuing to learn from others how I can best support people when they are bereaved and how I can help create a really beautiful and fitting commemoration and celebration of life. I think it is a tremendous privilege to be able to bring my skills and experience in engaging with others, communicating and creating a warm and inclusive space for grief, to help others as they go through this very hard part of life.
If you would like to discuss how I might be able to support you then please do get in touch.
