Hi, I'm Helen
Thanks for finding me and, since you must be thinking of getting married, congratulations! If you’re looking to create a uniquely personal wedding, wedding affirmation or vow renewal ceremony that reflects who you are and celebrates an important moment in the one life we have – then we’re on the same page and I’d love to work with you.
Words are my passion and joy: reading, writing, literature – you name it, I love it. If you would like support to find the right words, it would be my pleasure to help you. It turns out all those hours spent reading had a purpose – to help find the right readings for couples, some well known, many unusual and telling. I can’t explain how it works, but somehow this facility with words helps me to identify or create a symbolic gesture that expresses the character of a couple.
I’m often asked, ‘What’s in a humanist wedding ceremony?’ The answer is anything you like (so long as it’s not religious – that’s already well provided for), and anywhere you like. Each humanist wedding is different, because what matters most to each couple is different. I work with you to understand you, what brought you to this point, and your hopes for the future, so that your wedding ceremony reflects your story.
I’m based in beautiful Malvern but more than happy to travel, including abroad, and am also happy to assist with online ceremonies. I speak French, grew up in Thailand, India and Papua New Guinea, and have professional connections with the Caribbean, so I particularly love multicultural ceremonies.
If you want to ask any questions, or like what you hear and would like to find out more about how I can help you to create a truly personal, meaningful ceremony, please get in touch using the contact details to the right – I’d love to meet you.
I’m trained, accredited and insured by Humanists UK.
From our first conversation, through to the first meeting, Helen made us feel completely at ease over how we envisaged the day, and just wanted to make it as special for us as possible. What really struck a chord was how invested she was in learning our story and also our values so that she could build the perfect ceremony for us. We had a few requests which were accommodated with ease and gave us plenty of time to look over the script.

On the day itself Helen was absolutely brilliant for us. She again made us feel comfortable, whilst all the feedback from those in attendance commented on the delivery and story she’d put together, which was hugely appreciated. Helen made the ceremony a truly special occasion and one we are really grateful for! We highly recommend Helen if you are looking for a celebrant for your special day!

By the time of the day of celebration of our wedding, Helen had become integral to our sense of the celebration of our love. Her sensitive and professional conduct of the ceremonies were perfectly aligned with what we wished as two people, joining together late in life. Our guests responded afterwards, to us, and to Helen personally, with admiration and gratitude for the special quality she had given to the ceremony.

We were so happy that we chose Helen to officiate our vow renewal ceremony; we were delighted with everything. For us, the ceremony was the highlight of the whole day and Helen was able to perfectly capture what we wanted to say and do. In fact, it was even better than we could have hoped for.
—
Helen could not have done more, guiding us through the whole process and creating a ceremony that was perfect for us in every respect. It was crafted with wit and intelligence and her delivery set exactly the right tone. We were both deeply moved.
—
Helen was absolutely amazing. She perfectly understood what we wanted and was able to make the ceremony in English and perfect French ! I am personally extremely happy about her work. She definitely contributed to make our wedding magical!
—
We would recommend Helen in an instant to anyone needing a compassionate, creative, funny, detail-oriented, professional and warm celebrant.
