I'm humanist wedding celebrant based in Telford, Shropshire. If we’re a good fit, I’m happy to travel to the place that matters to you.
I’m 6'5" with a bright green mohawk and beard, so you’ll probably spot me at your wedding. But the ceremony itself is about the two of you. My job is to listen, find the details that make your relationship yours, and tell your story with warmth, care and the right amount of humour.
Everyone is welcome with me. I work with couples of all genders, sexualities, backgrounds and family circumstances, without judgement or assumptions about what your relationship or wedding should look like. I’ll take the time to understand who you are, what matters to you and whom you want to include.
When my wife Gina and I married, we chose a straightforward register-office ceremony. We weren’t religious, and we didn’t know a personalised ceremony was an option. I’m quite happy entertaining a room; Gina is much more reserved. If we’d known, I’d have wanted a ceremony that made space for both of us. That experience has stayed with me.
Your ceremony can be joyful, moving, funny, quietly meaningful or all of those things. You might want to exchange rings, involve your children or friends, include a handfasting, or keep things beautifully simple. We’ll create something that feels comfortable and true to both of you. I also offer vow renewals.
Before becoming a celebrant, I worked in hospitality, spent nearly two decades as a frontline police officer and taught martial arts. Those experiences taught me to listen to people as individuals, stay calm when emotions run high, and speak confidently to a room. Above all, they taught me that you cannot understand someone’s story by making assumptions about them.
I’d love to hear about your plans, whether you have every detail mapped out or are still wondering what a humanist ceremony could look like. Let’s have an informal chat and see if I’m the right celebrant for you.
