Hi, I'm Dave Phillips, an accredited Humanist Wedding Celebrant based in South London. To me, your wedding day is exactly that - YOUR day - which is why I operate as Yourdayceremonies.
The ceremony you want is one we'll create together. It can be anywhere from very structured and quite traditional to highly informal and with a bit of room of last minute ideas and inspirations. It can include as many readings (poems, stories, short speeches) as you like, music (live and/or recorded), special moments such as hand-fasting, filling a jar with different colours of sand put there by special friends and relatives, and even a role for a favourite pet. I once had the family dog bring over the rings in a little pouch attached to her collar! We can include funny as well as poignant moments and have roles for as many of your circle as you like. There is no limit other than your imagination.
You can feel sure that you'll have any style and tone you want - I've presented at virtual and in-person conferences of several hundred people as part of my job and also run wedding ceremonies for as few as 6 people including the bride and groom (!) so am quite comfortable with any size of gathering and am happy helping you manage all the logistics too, so you'll be in safe hands.
The main thing is that it's a celebration of your love, your journey together, your experiences so far and the expression of your wishes for your future.
I'm happy to meet over Teams/Zoom or face-to-face initially - the main thing is that we have time for me to understand fully all your requirements, learn your backstories, and for me to suggest things you might like to consider so you can feel this is truly YOUR ceremony. If you're not sure what you want, then I'll lay out all of the most common options so don't feel you have to come up with all the plans.
