Hello! I'm a Naming Celebrant trained and accredited by Humanists UK. My aim is to create original, heartfelt, uplifting ceremonies to welcome your precious child. The arrival of a child, whether it's a baby, toddler or adopted child joing a family, is one of the most monumental things to happen in the world and a Humanist Ceremony can be exactly what you want it to be.
I'll work closely with your family to craft a personal, bespoke celebration to welcome your child or children into the family and the world with warmth, love and beauty. Together we'll write a heartwarming ceremony incorporating personal elements, stories, readings, music and promises to make the day unique and special. People often choose to have Guide Parents, sometimes called Mentors or even Odd Parents! The day can be as formal or informal as you like and can take place in a park, your home and garden, in the countryside, a village hall or even on a walk; go on surprise me!
My writing and presenting styles are usually described as warm, relaxed and inclusive; aiming to create a comfortable atmosphere, at the same time acknowledging the importance and sincerity of the day.
My home is in a village in Derbyshire, 6 miles North of Derby just off the A6. My interests are the countryside, wildlife, my garden, reading, the cinema and theatre; but above all, spending time with my children, granddaughter and extended family, eating lovely food, having a laugh, lots of fun and plenty of hugs.
I love every element of this job, meeting families, doing the research, writing and delivering the ceremony and then handing over the special presentation copy for you to keep and enjoying the beautiful 'vibes' of the day.
