As a Humanists UK-accredited wedding celebrant, I can help you plan, design, and deliver the perfect ceremony, including vow renewals and handfastings.
I work closely with my couples to create an inclusive, non-religious ceremony reflecting their identity.
No couple is the same, therefore no wedding ceremony should be!
By making you the centre of your wedding, you will have the opportunity to be married in a way that is personal to you.
From the traditional to the contemporary or something in between, my ceremonies are meaningful and life-affirming, full of love, laughter, and, yes, the occasional tear!
About me ~
Before becoming a celebrant, I worked in Performing Arts as an actor, director and teacher. I've found these skills invaluable when creating and delivering ceremonies.
I am a confident public speaker and a great communicator, especially when it comes to organising groups of people and being heard!
Directing for theatre has given me an understanding of how to use and prepare a venue, so that even the largest of open spaces can feel intimate and inclusive.
I've always loved meeting people and learning about them (probably why I became an actor!). I now enjoy combining my interest in others with my creativity to tell and present a couple’s story in a way that makes them feel confident and happy.
What might a ceremony include? ~
Your story - how you met, your feelings for each other, what love and marriage mean to you and your hopes for the future.
Your vows - either completely personalised or chosen from a selection of pre-written vows.
Music & readings - which have meaning for you as a couple.
Symbolic Acts - exchanging rings or similar tokens, handfasting (where the couple’s hands are tied together, hence the phrase ‘tying the knot’), unity candles, drinking from a shared cup or anything else meaningful for you.
The active involvement of guests in any part of the ceremony, including ring warmings, handfasting, readings & sing-a-longs!
