Making your own end of life plan and pre-planning your funeral can bring reassurance and peace of mind to you and your loved ones. It is a thoughtful act: a gift.
Our pre-planned funeral ceremony service puts you in touch with a celebrant who can help you plan for your funeral.
When there are no plans for a funeral ceremony, loved ones may have to guess what our wishes might be and this can cause confusion and disagreement. Our pre-planning service allows you to discuss your funeral wishes with a celebrant in advance, and know that these have been recorded.
What’s involved?
Your funeral celebrant will talk to you about the type of funeral or memorial service you would like to have, who you would like to be involved, what music should be played, which poems or text should be included, and whether you would like anyone to contribute a tribute or a reading. They can advise on many practical matters, and suggest ways in which to make the ceremony unique and meaningful.
Your wishes will be recorded and securely stored. Any notes or scripts that the celebrant has written will be kept in a secure repository. If the celebrant who worked with you is no longer available to take the ceremony, it can be delivered in exact accordance with your wishes by another member of the Humanist Ceremonies Celebrant Network.
The fee the celebrant will charge will reflect the level of service you require: an enquiry (free of charge); consultation only; script writing; a full ceremony delivery.
