Environmentalism: a humanist response to the climate crisis | Haywards Heath Humanists

03 January 2026, 10:30 -- 12:30

Join us to explore how humanists are responding to the climate crisis, and discuss how we can promote environmentalism in our everyday lives and local community.

As the climate crisis intensifies, the need for clear thinking, ethical leadership, and collective action has never been more urgent. This event explores how humanist values—reason, empathy, and responsibility for future generations—can shape meaningful and effective responses to environmental challenges.

Together, we’ll discuss the role of humanists in climate action and the practical steps individuals and societies can take to build a sustainable future. Grounded in evidence and guided by humanist principles, the discussion will highlight how we can confront ecological threats without despair, foster global solidarity, and promote solutions that uplift both people and the planet.

Whether you’re deeply engaged in climate action or simply curious about the humanist perspective, this event offers an inspiring, hopeful, and intellectually honest look at what it means to care for our shared home.

Welcome to Haywards Heath Humanists

If you’re a humanist, humanist-curious, or humanist-friendly, you’re very welcome at our events. We’re sure you’ll learn something interesting and meet some cool people. Our inclusive local group brings non-religious people together to be happier and more fulfilled and to be a force for good in our community. If you have any ideas for making Haywards Heath Humanists more welcoming and effective - we’d love to hear from you.
