York Humanists is a local branch of Humanists UK. All Humanists UK members and supporters in the branch area are automatically part of the branch.
York Humanists aim to provide a range of activities for non-religious living in York to meet, socialise, campaign, raise awareness of humanism, participate in local civic life and support each other. The branch represents Humanists UK and the local humanist community at public events and in public forums.
As Treasurer, will keep an overview of York Humanists’ financial affairs, ensuring viability and good record-keeping.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Prepare an annual budget and quarterly reports for Humanists UK.
- Ensure that York Humanists’ programme of activities is financially viable.
- Process invoices and expense claims.
You may also be asked to:
- Develop and deliver the fundraising aspect of local activities, and ensure income-generating activities are managed in line with best practice.
- Provide support to other members of the team in the delivery of events and other activities.
