World-renowned philosopher A C Grayling will deliver the inaugural Leeds Humanists' annual lecture where he will be considering some of the big ideas in humanists thought.

The roots of humanism lie in philosophical ethics, stemming from the Socratic challenge to 'live the considered life,' and the fruits relate to ideas about human rights and community; in this talk both are explained, and their connection elaborated.
