Annual re-accreditation applies to all fully accredited celebrants. As a fully accredited celebrant you are required to have done three things in order to be reaccredited each year:
- Submitted a CPD form annually. The deadline is 1 March. You can do this via your Dashboard.
- Submitted a Peer Review, at least once every three years. The deadline for logging your peer review for the previous year is 1 March, and you can submit this via your Dashboard.
- Have a Direct Debit in place for the payment of the accreditation fee. Payment of the fee will give you full individual or family membership of Humanists UK and accreditation as a Humanist Ceremonies celebrant.
If you foresee any problems in meeting these requirements, please contact your Celebrant Network Support Coordinator.
Anything not listed here is not a requirement of accreditation, though it may still be beneficial to you. For example: celebrants do not have to be a member of a group and attend meetings in order to be accredited, but we strongly encourage group membership. Some regions are developing virtual groups for celebrants who live in geographically dispersed areas. You can get more information from the CNSC for your region or nation.
Accreditation fees
Your annual fees are £21.70 per month, paid by Direct Debit on the 26th of each month. Wedding celebrants in Northern Ireland pay £27.13 per month.
If you experience ill health, or have caring duties or maternity leave, or another similar situation, you may choose to leave the network until you are able to market you celebrant services once again. You can find out more about that process here.
In return for your fee Humanists UK operates a service-level agreement, represented by our Commitment to Celebrants.
Fees are increased annually each April, based on the Consumer Price Index inflation rate for the previous September.
Reporting your ceremonies
Please report every ceremony you take, as you take them. We need accurate figures for marketing, campaigning, reporting and political lobbying, all of which will help support the network. You can do report ceremonies quickly and easily.
