Hi, I'm Eleanor

First of all CONGRATULATIONS are in order! You're engaged! And you've decided to take a huge step & seal the deal! Planning your wedding can be exciting but I know, from experience, it can also be a wee bit stressful! However, don't despair, I'm here to help you create the most personal & unique wedding ceremony; one which you will remember so fondly for many years to come!

A wee bit about me

I'm a mum of two legendary teenagers & a stepmum for another three amazing kids. I’ve lived on the North Coast for over 16 years but I’m a Scottish girl through & through, from just outside Glasgow! I live with my husband Mark & I spend alot of my time stoating along our gorgeous coastline with my beloved pup Ziggy. When I'm not out walking I love to read, drink red wine infront of the fire (during the colder months) or sip crisp cold fizz in the back garden (during the brief warmer months). I also love to write & occasionally take part in a life drawing class or a similar creative pursuit. I'm not good at the latter but its wonderful for destressing. Same with yoga which at the moment - with one teenager who has just passed his driving test - is a necessary part of my week. Coffee, real bread & delicious treats also feature heavily in my life; we only have one life so I'm here to enjoy it!

My first introduction to a humanist ceremony was actually a funeral for my dear Dad. It may seem strange but it truly was a personal celebration of his full life & this got me thinking...when it came to planning my own wedding with Mark I knew we had to go down the humanist route. Together with a wonderful celebrant we created such an amazing unique celebration of our love. And this is what I can offer you!

My offering to you

First of all I want you to throw out the rule book & any ideas of what you think a wedding has to include. Your humanist ceremony can take place anywhere, you just need a postcode! It would be the greatest privilege for me to help you write your love story & guide you in creating a completely bespoke ceremony that is all about you; music of your choice, readings or poems that are special to you & we can also include a symbolic gesture or two if that floats your boat! I can offer inspiration & advice for all of this. We can also include any traditional elements that you love; this, of course, is all about you & your partner.

if this sounds good please get in touch for a no-pressure chat!

You can trust Humanist Ceremonies celebrants: We are DBS-checked, fully insured, and regularly peer reviewed for quality assurance. We are committed to a code of conduct, and have a transparent and robust complaints process in the rare case of a problem. We all pay a monthly fee to Humanists UK to further support the work of the charity, and are part of a regional network for like-minded celebrants for support and learning.

Humanist weddings

A humanist wedding ceremony is a wonderful option to celebrate your wedding in the way you choose: without religion but with meaning, and totally true to the two of you. They are uplifting and heartwarming occasions, personal to each couple to reflect your personalities and interests, and your love story. Sincere and significant, your ceremony will be crafted to create an occasion which is unique and fitting to you both.
